An insider's view of fashion
While shooting campaigns for leading designers like Josh Goot, Aurelio Costarello and Calvin Klein, photographer Cassandra Adams realised many people wanted a backstage pass to where fashion lives.
And from her privileged position at the end of a catwalk or inside a studio or on location for an outdoor shoot, she began to dream about how she could provide them with an insider’s view to everything.
From those musings emerged The Fashion Photography School where keen photographers can learn about all that happens inside a photo shoot and where they can create their own images to build a portfolio.
Cassandra was keen to share her expertise earned from studies at the Sydney College of the Arts and the Whitehouse Institute of Design as well as travelling to New York to study at the International Centre of Photography and attending master classes with iconic photographer Nick Knight.
Also lecturing on fashion photography at FBI Fashion College, she began to search for other professionals who shared her vision, to invite people to collaborate as part of their team during courses at The Fashion Photography School.
At The Fashion Photography School, models, too, can work towards developing their skills to take their careers further, all under the careful guidance of a team of professionals eager to share their knowledge.
Castings, are also seldom witnessed by anyone outside the fashion industry. And for aspiring models, it can be difficult to know what’s expected and how to get that next job. As Cassandra has attended numerous castings, indeed, helping to select the models for designer campaigns for the likes of Nicola Finettti and Fred Perry, she has an in-depth knowledge about the requirements. And best of all, she’s willing to share them.
“With careful coaching at the Fashion Photography School, I believe we can take some of the mystery out of castings and improve the chances of getting that next job,” she said.
