Recap: Fashion Photography workshop 4th November

We could not be happier with the results from the Fashion Photography workshop! Check out some of our favourite images and hear from our attendees.

I recently attended one of Cass’ fashion photography courses and had the best experience. I was blown away with the shots I captured. I have no background in fashion photography so all of the photos I took on the day were due to Cass’ amazing tuition. The day itself was very hands on and covered all of the elements required to create a successful photo shoot. Cass has a wealth of industry knowledge and is extremely talented. I highly recommend her courses and can’t wait to sign up to more in the future.

5 mins with our model, Olivia Arezzolo

What does a typical day look like?

It always starts in the same way - I write my goals, affirmations and 3 things I'm grateful for in my gratitude journal, all while i'm drinking a cup of tea. Next is fitness - either a run, gym, some stretching, walk. After that, there is definitely no typical routine - and I love it. Shooting, castings, emails, meeting with PR agencies, attending events! Any single one or a mix of them all!

What was the most exciting fashion shoot you have done?

I recently shot a campaign in Mallorca, Spain, for Puro Beach Club - this meant we had to enact being guests. So part of the job was having breakfast, laying by the pool, drinking cocktails and even getting a 30 minute massage. Not sure if it was the mojitos, the crystal blue waters or the fact that I literally fell asleep during my massage, but I was definitely in heaven!

Who is your favourite photographer to work with?

This is a tricky one! I love so many! In girls - Cassandra is definitely one of my favourites as she gets the shot super fast. I also love working with the boys who are absolute veterans of the industry: Steven Chee, Ed Purnomo, Peter Soulis, JAmes Pipino and Kane Skennar.

Preview: Fashion inspiration for November 4th workshop

We wanted to show you a sneak peek of what those lucky enough to join us on the 4th of November will experience. This fashion photo shoot will draw inspiration from the Isabel Marant Ready-to-wear Spring/Summer ‘18 collection which explores the notion of the endless summer.

Marant cited two key references for the collection: British lace and sportswear, featuring crisp whites, billowing sleeves and matching white track pants. There were ’70s-style crochet bikinis layered under denim jackets and anoraks; shiny metallic jumpsuits rolled down to reveal asymmetric going-out tops.

Marant is arguably the originator of French girl cool, and her distinctive brand of it—a little bit bohemian, a little bit streetwise, a little bit undone, and totally free-spirited

Make sure you sign up to the workshop on November 4th because this is a fashion shoot not to be missed!
